Craiglea Warrior won his 1,200-metre Eagle Farm Race Track assignment by a neck.
Trainer Peter Fleming has been training Craiglea Warrior for only a little over two years after he entered his Gympie stables as a class six horse and this win was his ninth under his care.
"He's a tough bloke and has been just about everywhere in Queensland . He's won in Blackall and Mackay and in Brisbane with me," Fleming said.
Fleming hit the road to Sydney last year with Craiglea Warrior despite a long and rugged 23-start campaign around Queensland tracks.
"We took him to Sydney for a welter and he was only beaten three lengths by Mustard. (Owner-breeder) Stan (Johnson) wants to take him back to Sydney again soon and I can't see any reason why he shouldn't go", Fleming concluded. |
