Brighton Race Track Details
Brighton Race Track holds flat races of up to 1½ miles. The race track is U-shaped, markedly undulating, with sharp and wide left-hand turns and an uphill finish in front of the grandstand. Brighton Race Track suits the handy types. In sprint races, horses that have drawn low numbers might have an advantage.
When the full length of the race track is to be used, some of the grass turf of the race track has to be laid over the tarmac at the top of Wilson Avenue, a public road, which therefore has to be closed for the duration of races. The main portion of Brighton Race Track runs beside the road from the town centre to Woodingdean.
Brighton Race Track has two enclosures: the Premier Enclosure and the Grandstand and Paddock Enclosure.
