Desert Chill wins Barking Brickwork Maiden Stakes!
Odds-on favourite Desert Chill captured the Barking Brickwork Maiden Stakes on Sunday at Brighton Race Track. Desert Chill thus produced a rare Godolphin win at the seaside Race Track.
Desert Chill was the 2-5 favorite in the Brighton Race Track contest and she broke her duck at the sixth time of asking by jockey Daragh O'Donohoe, ran confidently into the final couple of furlongs, and stamped her mark as she delivered an eight-length triumph for Godolphin.
"She has done it well and she loved the ground, but the wind was unreal and was blowing her around", said jockey O'Donohoe.
"I had to let her come over to the stands rail and she did it well in a moderate race. I knew I was on the best filly."
Sheikh Mohammed's operation has only been seen at Brighton Race Track three times in the last four years. Each attempt has not tasted success until now.
O'Donohoe took his seasonal tally to 16 with a 9-1 double completed by Enodoc (6-1) in the digibet.co.uk Handicap.
