Catterick Race Track: Unparalleled Horse Racing Action in North Yorkshire!
Catterick Race Track is a thoroughbred horse racing venue located in Richmond, in the hamlet of Catterick Bridge in North Yorkshire, England. Catterick Race track hosts about 27 regular flat, jump and national hunt races throughout the year.
Catterick Race Track is one of the few race tracks that holds a meeting each month of the year, thus making it the busiest track in North Yorkshire. Catterick Race Track has hosted a number of significant races over the course of its racing history. A significant event happened in March 2002 when Catterick Race Track became the site of the first ever win by international flat racing champion Collier Hill.

Also known as Catterick Bridge Race Track, it is reknown for its relaxed countryside location and the wide range of amenities that have been developed at the race track over the years.
Aside from horse racing, Catterick Race Track also hosts the Catterick Sunday Market. It is the largest Sunday Market in the North of England.
Catterick Race Track Description
The flat track at Catterick Race Track is 1 mile and 1 furlong in length. It is run left-handed, has tight bends and undulations. Horses that have drawn low numbers have an advantage on races up to 7 furlongs.
Meanwhile, the National Hunt track at Catterick Race track is a wider and slightly longer circuit at 1 mile and 3 furlongs. It has eight notoriously easy fences. The track also has an extension which is used for flat sprint races and contains a ninth fence for some National Hunt races.
The jump track at Catterick Race Track is not quite as sharp as the flat or hunt tracks but the fences are placed relatively close together and like the other tracks it is best suited to handy horses.

The Club Enclosure is also known as the Members' area and gives the public access to all public facilities as well as exclusive use of the Members' Enclosure, the Club Bar and Hot-Servery.

The Tattersalls Enclosure provides the public access to the main grandstand, parade ring and winners enclosure. This enclosure has the Gods Solution Bar and two smaller bars. There is also a self service cafeteria and a number of fast food outlets.

The Course Enclosure is located in the middle of the track. There are bar and cafeteria facilities and a children's playground. In the summer, extra childrens entertainment is provided.
Catterick Race Track History
- In 1783, Catterick Race Track was first opened to the public. The first recorded race took place on April 22 nd.
- In 1813, a permanent track was built on the site of Catterick Race Track.
- In 1906, the first stand was built at Catterick Race Track to accommodate the growing number of racing enthusiasts.
- In 1923 the Catterick's Racecourse Company was formed to help the track grow and develop.
- In 2004, Catterick's raised £600,000 to redevelop the stable yard.
