Fontwell Park Race Track features one of the two figure-of-eight steeple chase courses in the UK. The circuit is 1 mile. The key fence on the steeplechase course is the plain obstacle opposite the stands at the beginning of the back straight; the fence has a slight drop to it and horses often quicken on the approach.
Fontwell Park Race Track also has an oval, left-handed hurdles course. It hosts the valuable National Spirit Hurdle - won by Baracouda in 2003 - in February.
