Conduit captured the Betfair Gordon Stakes at Goodwood Race track on Tuesday.
Under the direction of jockey Ryan Moore, Conduit had a fairly steady course during the first stages of the game. Then as the pack reached the two-furlong marker, Conduit executed a move that placed him within striking distance of the four horses struggling to take control of the game.
Then, with all the resources he could muster, Moore conjured up Conduit to give everything he's got to win the Goodwood Race track thriller.
Conduit did not disappoint and beat out the tenacious Donegal to win the Gordon Stakes by a head.
Still, even though this victory at Goodwood Race track enhances Conduit's chances for greater glory, he is still not certain to line-up for the prestigious St Leger at Doncaster Race track in September.
Still, Sir Michael Stoute and Ballymacoll Stud will certainly have something to hope for in this Goodwood Race track romp for Conduit.
The colt had appeared slightly unlucky when second at Royal Ascot and came under pressure with three furlongs left to run on the Sussex Downs.
An extra two furlongs and a stronger pace would certainly not go amiss should Conduit tackle the St Leger, but most bookmakers left him unchanged at 7-1 in their ante-post list.
