Dar Re Mi wins Plantation Stud Stakes at Newmarket!
Dar Re Mi captured the Plantation Stud Stakes at Newmarket Race Track, thus capping a double-header for trainer John Gosden.
Under the direction of jockey Richard Mullen, Dar Re Mi tenaciously engaged in a fierce battle with her co-favourite Folk Opera in the 12-furlong race at Newmarket Race Track.
However, Dar Re Mi proved ultimately stronger as she was pulled out towards the middle of the Race Track in the closing stages and finally proved superior to Folk Opera inside the final 100 yards. Dar Re Mi won by ¾ length.
"It was very pleasing to see her win because she had a rough ride at York Race Track in the Musidora and was then a bit unlucky in France last time. It is very important for her to be a black-type winner as she is well bred." said Dar Re Mi's trainer Gosden
Gorden indicated that Dar Re Mi will be going to France for her next outing, stating that they will stay with the distance of 1½ miles and will be considering the Group Two Prix de Pomone on August 10 or the Prix Minerve on August 14.
Dar Re Mi was a slightly unfortunate third in a French Group Two three weeks ago but made no mistake in this drop down to Listed class.
