Kingsgate Native set to stamp his mark on Darley July Cup!
Kingsgate Native, the winner of the Golden Jubilee Stakes, leads a 16-pack line-up for the Darley July Cup on Friday at Newmarket Race Track.
Kingsgate Native turned-in a below-par return in the King's Stand but has redeemed himself when he proved his stamina for six furlongs last time.
The three-year-old Kingsgate Native runs in the colours of owner John Mayne but will stand at Cheveley Park when his racing career is finished.
Chris Richardson, Kingsgate Native's managing director, said that the possibility of rain-soaked ground at Newmarket Race Track would leave the team in somewhat unchartered waters.
"We were obviously delighted with his success at Royal Ascot on the Saturday and hopefully we can enjoy the rest of the season with him," said Richardson , referring to Kingsgate Native.
"I'm a bit unsure as to what the ground will be like on Friday and that depends on how much rain we get - it could be a little bit of an unknown. But he's game and he's in good form and I think John Best and John Mayne are very happy with him."
Kingsgate Native is expected to face stiff competition at the Darley July Cup from the likes of Sir Gerry, Fat Boy, Benbaun, Marchand D'Or , US Ranger and the James Eustace-trained War Artist.
