Wincanton Race Track is a thoroughbred horse race track located in Wincanton, Somerset, England. Wincanton Race Track is famed for its friendly atmosphere and its superb facilities. In fact, Wincanton Race Track has been voted 'Best Small Race track in the South West' for 12 successive years by the Racegoers' Club.

In the 19 th Century, Wincanton is believed to have hosted the first-ever steeplechase.

In 1913, the Wincanton Race Company was formed. Racing commenced.

In 1920, horse racing was resumed after being suspended for World War I.

In 1925, the race track moved to its current site at Kingwell Farm.

In 1927, the inaugural meeting was held at Wincanton Race Track.

During World War II, racing was postponed and the race track was used as a military base.

At the end of the war, Wincanton Race Track was put up for sale and it was purchased by ten National Hunt racers.

In October 1945, the first post-war meeting was held.

In 1966, Wincanton Race Track changed hands again and this time it was purchased by the Racecourse Holdings Trust.

In 2001, the Racecourse Holdings Trust invested heavily in the facilities at the race track which today attracts top equestrians from all over the country.
