Rancho Bernardo Handicap Winner is Behaving Badly!
Behaving Badly captured the $150,000 Rancho Bernardo Handicap at Del Mar Race Track on Friday by beating Freakin Streakin by 1¼ lengths.
Behaving Badly, ridden by Victor Espinoza, was the 9-5 favorite at the Rancho Bernardo Handicap. She covered 6 1/2 furlongs in 1:15.32 and paid $5.80, $3.60 and $3.
Second-placer Freakin Streakin returned $6 and $4.80, while Dee Dee's Diner was another length back in third and paid $5 to show.
The victory increased Behaving Badly's career earnings to $153,000, with three wins in three starts.
Winning trainer Bob Baffert had a bittersweet day. His undefeated 2-year-old colt What a Song was euthanized after breaking its right front ankle during a morning workout.
Espinoza rode three winners on the card and took over first place in the jockeys' standings with 32 winners to 30 for Corey Nakatani.
