Mountaineer Race Track is a thoroughbred horse race track and casino resort located in Chester, West Virginia. It offers live horse racing all year round.
Mountaineer Race Track is located along the Ohio River on West Virginia 's North shore and is part of a bigger gaming resort complex. Mountaineer Race Track lies approximately 40 miles south of Youngstown, Ohio, 109 miles south of Cleveland, Ohio and 38 miles west of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Aside from horse racing, Mountaineer Race Track also offers slots and table gaming, as well as live entertainment shows. It is also a popular venue for conventions and special events.
Prior to 1990, Mountaineer Race Track was known as Waterford Park.
Mountaineer Race Track hosts the Grade III West Virginia Derby, a race increasingly growing in stature. Mountaineer Race Track also runs many stakes and overnight handicaps. Among them are:

Mountaineer Race Track Features
Mountaineer Race Track has a one mile dirt oval. It also has a turf track measuring seven furlongs long and is found inside the dirt race track. The race track is curved slightly in the front stretch.
Mountaineer announced the opening of it's casino table games for December 20th, 2007. The resort will furnish it's gamblers with 50 casino table games. Among these are blackjack, three card poker, and roulette.
